INC Ride

My Story

INC Ride started with a familiar problem: you finally find a car you're serious about buying, or you're ready to sell your own, and there's no simple way to prove how well it's actually been looked after.

Why I Built This

It started with a youngtimer, a car worth taking care of properly. After buying it, I started collecting every fuel receipt in a folder to build up its history, and kept a Google Sheets document on the side where I typed in the date, fuel amount, and cost from each one by hand. It worked, technically, but a folder of receipts and a spreadsheet isn't exactly a usage history you can hand over with confidence, or keep up with for long. That's what INC Ride was built to replace. Point your camera at the receipt, and the rest happens automatically.

How It Works

Snap a photo of a receipt, and INC Ride reads the date, fuel amount, and price automatically. Add an odometer reading if you have one. Over time, that adds up to a fuel and usage history you can share with a single link, no spreadsheets, no guesswork.

The Spare Parts Idea

I've been a heavy Discogs user for years, using it to research and buy vinyl records. A friend of mine told me his dream had always been a spare parts marketplace with the same "have" and "want" system Discogs uses for records. That's why I built it into INC Ride: list the parts you have to sell or trade, and the parts you're hunting for, and let other owners do the same.

Where the Name Came From

The name INC Ride comes from the song "Incride" by Masta Ace, a track with a music video full of cool cars that my friends and I used to watch on repeat growing up.

Where I'm Headed

I'm just getting started. Maintenance logs, spare parts trading, and more ways to document a car's life are already part of INC Ride, and I'm building toward making a vehicle's full story as easy to trust as it is to tell.
